Multicoloured laser beams? No, these stunning images reveal the geometric perfection of tulip fields captured from above

  • A photographer from Rome, Italy, was inspired to take the images from the air because he was interested in the geometry and colours of the flower-filled fields near Amsterdam, The Netherlands
  • Simone Sbaraglia, 42 took hundreds of images of the fields over four days in April 2014
  • Images resemble the work of famous American abstract painters such as Barnett Newman and Gene Davis
  • Photographer says the colourful lines create a sense of simplicity, beauty and harmony in the images

Hà Lan: Quốc gia nhỏ – Tòa án lớn

Nói đến Hà Lan nhớ đến cối xay gió, đê quai, hoa tulip, bóng đá tổng lực, sex… nhưng ít người nghĩ đến…tòa án. Vài  thứ đầu làm ta chóng mặt, hoa mắt, mỏi gối, chùn chân, nhưng tiếng búa gõ của quan tòa  The Hague mới làm cho kẻ mắc lỗi gục hẳn vì những phán xét mang tầm toàn cầu.

Tháng 12-2013, do tác động của bà Thủ tướng Đức, Tổng thống Putin đã ân xá cho sếp cũ của Yukos là Mikhail Khodorkovsky do muốn gây dựng hình ảnh Olympic Mùa Đông ở Sochi. Nhưng rồi biểu tình Maidan tại Kiev, lật đổ Yanukovych đã làm ngọn đuốc Sochi không như Putin muốn.

Eindhoven military air base, July 23, 2014: Flowers and a teddy bear are placed in front of a plane before a ceremony marking the return of the first bodies of passengers on board Malaysia Airlines Flight 17. The bodies will be taken to a military barracks in the city of Hilversum, where forensic experts will begin the task of identifying and returning them to relatives.

Rotterdam is chilly. From November until about the end of April, the city’s average temperature hovers between 1°C and 5°C (34°F – 41°F). The problem for many, however, isn’t the cold so much as the darkness, the wetness and the wind. In fact, most guidebooks recommend that tourists skip the Netherlands completely until the sun returns in May.
