The famous arch at London's Wembley football stadium was lit up in the familiar colours of the French Tricolore this evening as a sign of solidarity with all the victims of the Paris attack.

Emblazoned on the front television screen of the stadium, the French motto 'Liberté, égalité, fraternité,' is spelled out in block capitals in the French colours of the national flag.

From the Burj Khalifa in Dubai to the London Eye and as far as Rio's Christ the Redeemer statue, landmarks across the world have been lit up in the colours of the French Tricolore as locals gathered together to show their support for everyone caught up in the attacks in Paris.

People laid flowers, lit candles and sang songs in remembrance of the victims of the horrific attacks in Paris last Friday.

129 people were killed and 80 have been left seriously injured by the attacks in which seven gunmen attacked the Stade de France, restaurants, cafes and the Bataclan threatre.

Six of the seven terrorists died in the attacks by detonating their suicide vests while the seventh gunman was shot dead by police.

An eight man named as Abdeslam Salah is currently on the run from police. The 26-year-old French national is thought to have hired one of the cars for the attack and played an important part planning the devastating massacres.
