It is the playground of the rich where ostentatious wealth is flaunted, the skyscrapers reach the skies and the sun never seems to stop shining.
Tourists pack the boats as they float past the towering buildings that stand beside the turquoise-blue waterways.
Now an amazing timelapse video of Dubai takes viewers on an incredible four and a half minute journey through its streets, high-speed rail, the breathtaking skyline, the night life and the visually stunning sunsets and sunrises.

Once the city was a fishing settlement with camels and dhows plying for trade, but the discovery of oil in the Gulf states has helped turn the city into a futuristic dream.
An iconic image of the self-styled 'seven-star' hotel  Burj al Arab - built to mimic a style of Arabian ship - can be seen from the waterway's edge.

Of course there is an 18-hole golf course with plenty of sandy bunkers, the difference is it is lit up every night so fanatics can play any time they want to.
The rush-hour traffic is pictured speeding through the streets in a yellow glimmering flash, while travelling on the high-speed train appears to be seen through the eyes of the driver as it races along the tracks.
The beautiful sunsets and sunrises with vivid red hues are captured in the footage.
Dubai has come a long way since 1959 when the Emir of Kuwait lent Dubai millions of dollars to renovate the city's creek, to enable it to accommodate large ships and turn the area into a major trading hub.

Last year Dubai was the 22nd most expensive city in the world, and the most expensive city in the Middle East.
Dubai has also been rated as one of the best places to live in the Middle East.
